232 Main Street project completed back in 2007. This historic building had been abandoned with only the shell and minimum structure left intact. We saw an amazing opportunity to update the design while remaining historically accurate and complimentary of the Third Street corridor. The project was set to become a mixed use building with four high-end residence units on the top floor and two commercial offices located on the 1st and 2nd floor. The building serves as a model of energy efficiency, as it is one of the first LEED certified buildings in Baton Rouge. The innovative use of high-efficiency mechanical systems, lighting controls, day lighting, and building envelope configuration resulted in increased life cycle energy savings, which can be passed down to both commercial and residential tenants. This project was awarded the AIA Rose Award and Good Growth Award in 2009.
